Materials
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick (Super Bulky – 6), approx. 16 yards total, Color used in photo above: Carousel
Hook: M, 9 mm
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Gauge 2” x 2” = 3 sts x 3 rows
Finished Size 4” lying flat x 3.5”
Abbreviations
ch chain
hdc half double crochet
sl st slip stitch
st(s) stitch(es)
Chain one at the beginning of each round does NOT count as a stitch.
Chain
Chain 14. Slip stitch into first chain. Do not twist the chain. (To change width of cozy, increase/decrease in multiples of one).
Body
Round 1: ch 1, hdc in all stitches until end of chain, sl st into the top of the first hdc at the start of row – 14 sts
Rounds 2 to 6: ch 1, hdc into the same st, hdc into each st until end of row, sl st into the top of the first hdc at the start of row – 14 sts
Finish
Cut yarn, leaving a tail for weaving in.
Fasten, weave in ends with yarn needle. Turn the completed cozy inside out for ridged appearance.
