Yarn: Caron One Pound (Worsted Weight – 4), approx 25 yds

Gauge 2” x 2” = 5 sts x 5 rows

Chain one at the beginning of each round does NOT count as a stitch.

Stitch pattern commonly known as Lemon Peel Stitch.

Pattern

Chain 22. Slip stitch into first chain. Do not twist the chain. (To change width of cozy, increase/decrease in multiples of two).

Round 1: ch 1, sc in the first chain, dc in the next chain, repeat sc, dc in all stitches until end of chain, sl st into the top of the first sc at the start of row – 22 sts

Round 2: ch 1, dc into the same st, *sc into the next st (which should be a dc from the previous row), dc into the next st (which should be a sc from the previous row) – repeat from * until end of row (the last st should be sc into the top of the last dc from the previous row), sl st to join to top of first dc – 22 sts

Round 3: ch 1, sc into the same st, *dc into the next st (which should be a sc from the previous row), sc into the next st (which should be a dc from the previous row) – repeat from * until end of row (the last st should be sc into the top of the last dc from the previous row), sl st to join to top of first dc – 22 sts

Repeat Rounds 2 and 3 until total of 10 rows. Continue repeating for taller cozy.

Cut yarn, leaving a tail for weaving in.

Fasten, weave in ends with yarn needle.
