If you’re a bookish internet-addict like I am, you will probably constantly be bombarded with people telling you about books they’re reading, books they’ve read, and even more book they recommend. I’m an avid consumer of all of these recommendations and am constantly adding authors and books to my list of books to read. Obviously, I’m also contributing to the problem by giving you book recommendations as well. But where did I get exposed to those books to start with? Here are all the major places on the internet where I consume media related to books. I’ve just made a simple clickable list below and made a note of my absolute faves.

Reddit

Facebook

Podcasts

Instagram

There are way too many users on Instagram to list, so I’ll give you a few hashtags to follow for more ideas: #tropetuesday#coverlustfriday#stepbacksaturday

YouTube

TikTok

Tends to be the least reliable for me because people will just give a quick quote or roundup and it moves too fast for me to capture the book they’re talking about.

Amazon, Goodreads, Fantastic Fiction

Usually, when you’ve read or selected a single book from any of these places, there will be a handful of suggestions for similar books. Or books that others have also liked. These can be useful sources, but you’ve got to have a starting point. I’ve definitely casually browsed the book recommendations within my Kindle app and was lucky to find a few books I didn’t know about from authors that I loved.
