I’m a Teacher
- I care about communicating the best information to you and aiming for you to learn something or have a main takeaway.
- I’m dedicated to learning (both yours and mine).
- I enjoy seeing people experience that lightbulb moment when they understand something more clearly now than before.
I’m a Researcher
- I like evidence and getting to the root source of information.
- I will do my absolute best to make sure that the info I provide you is accurate and beneficial. This means outbound links to sources.
- I’m always exploring new ideas and methods to share with you.
Are you a blogger with an alternate job? What skills from your day job do you transfer to your blogging?
WOW! This is such a great idea! I will definitely be doing a post similar! But to get my thoughts going, I am also a teacher, sharing the same purpose you do, and a counselor. Aiming to care and encourage and create community while giving practical advice and tools to care for yourself and your creativity! thanks so much olive!
Yes! It’s funny how what we do in our offline lives really overlaps with what we do (or want to do) in our online lives. 🙂
This is a great post and one that I really appreciate as someone who also works full time and blogs. It seems like so many people are trying to make their blog their full time thing but I also find that my day job and blog can go somewhat hand in hand. I’m a science writer for a large university so I get to hone my writing/researching/communicating in my day job. My blog content is very different from what I write for work but I still think they fuel each other.
Thanks so much for your comment! Blogging is definitely a different creative release than my full-time job. Lots of skills and values are definitely transferable though!
I watch your Periscope Videos and I am so intrigued to learn a new art form, LITERALLY! You are constantly making that ‘lightbulb moment’ happen for me! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You rock!
Thanks Whitney!! I’m so glad that you’re finding my stuff useful. 🙂
