I don’t know about your house, but at my house, bananas are on the weekly grocery list. It’s a staple here. However, some weeks, we just don’t get around to eating them all before they get overripe. So what should we do with them? We can make banana bread, but we might not have the time for all that. Instead, I just mash them up and store them in the freezer for a later day.
1. Put the bananas in a bowl and mash as you would. Get those aggressions out. I used a potato masher, but feel free to use a fork.
2. Spoon the mashed banana into a labeled freezer bag. I have a quart-sized bag for 3 bananas. (Yes, we call them nanners here… something my husband says he grew up calling them)
3. Lay flat in your freezer. Let Queen Elsa take a shot at the banana’s heart. After it’s frozen, you can just toss in a freezer drawer haphazardly.
What do you guys do with your leftover bananas? Any other ideas for me? (to be honest, the banana drawer in my freezer is getting pretty full)
